What is ActiveNote?
ActiveNote puts your notes onto your screen. Formerly, there where always too less notes available and important thaughts where sent to the mential nirvana. Now, there is ActiveNote, helping you to get an overview. Digital notes act as their "hardware"-pendants: Take a paper, note your thaughts and put (save) it anywhere. On your desktop or whereever you want - and, thanks to the document "Search"-feature, you'll even find your notes again...
But digital notes can do a lot more: You can interact directly with other Windows programs - no more typing errors with e-mail-addresses or Internet-URLs. And if you what to convert your note into an "real" document later, you needn't type it again but just save the note in the choosen format. More features of ActiveNote you find at What's new?
If you wish to have a fast access to ActiveNote, then you should use the feature StartNote. In the task bar, there is a small note icon, one click and a new, empty note will appear. With StartNote, you have the possibility to recieve notes which are sent directly via a TCP/IP-network. It can't be easier to realize your message-exchange!
Another help for using ActiveNote with a network provides the add-in NoteMap (-> Download). With this independent program you get, as if you activate StartNote, a fast access to new notes from your taskbar. In addition, NoteMap checks in backgound some earlier defined directories (even network-dirs) if there are some new notes, which will be moved directly to the desktop and viewed on your screen. With a correct server-structure you get fast something like a note-mailbox-system.
ActiveNote is freeware, which means, that you can and must copy it free for your friends, acquaintances, neighbors, colleges etc. You only have to copy the file ANOTE.EXE. The DLLs used by ActiveNote are basically included in Windows or extracted at runtime. These are just a few elements of the program-philosophie of ActiveNote.
A optional registration for ActiveNote is included in the "OnlineUpdate" function of the program. If you want to be informed when there is a new version of ActiveNote, you can also send a mail to the support. And the programmer would be very happy about a little contribution :-)
